Nushake: About us

Hello..my name is Doug Heath.

I started Nushake roofing in 1976...34 years ago.
While growing up and going to school I always worked in restaurants. At the age of 23 I took a job helping move houses in L. A. by the airport. One day I saw some guys re-roofing a home....something inside of me clicked and I knew that was what I wanted to do .... you were outside ~~ part of a team ..had great views....kept you in shape and you were always working on your tan!!

Now 34 years later I still have the passion.

My first roofing job was working as an assistant to a Hawaiian Samoan who had been roofing since forever. "A roofers roofer"!!
Sanosa took me under his wing and for the next 5 years I was taught the right way to roof. He made me hand, said it gave you time to think about what your were doing...back in those days we did not have nail guns. Always take the time to do the roof right..that way when it rained we could go fishing---not spend the day fixing leaks.

In 1981 after the required 5 years I took and passed the California State Contractors Exam. My Licence number is 420175~~low compared to most roofing contractors.

I began small working with a 4 man crew as a team. I taught them as I was taught...to do a good job. Our roofing family has grown to about 70 people. Three of my men have been with us over 20 years and over half have been with us over 10 years.
Our record with the BBB has been A+. We have been given many awards...we even had a street named after us in Manteca.

Yes sometimes problems do pop up ....things happen...when and if they do you can count on Nushake to take care of them in a professional and timely manor. We do have INTEGRITY and we are proud of our good reputation.
